"Intersections"

What's all the "Noise" about?

Perfect weather, artists, art lovers, talented musicians.  A party in the park.  What could be better?
If you were to ask Virginia Hoffman.  I believe she would say nothing compares to a dream come true.

After two years of planing, the "Intersections" public art project was unveiled.

Twelve artists will display their pieces through out the downtown area.  In November one sculpture will be chosen to become  part of the city's permanent collection.

The Public Art Committee, Sarasota County Arts Council and the Sarasota Convention and Visitors Bureau are joining forces to make this project another must see while in our fair city.

"Point Defiance"

"Freedom Sky"

To see the other nine pieces may I suggest stopping by one of our local restaurants.  After grabbing a bite, pick up a brochure that highlights each pieces location.  Take a stroll downtown.  Burn up a few calories and check out some great art.

Ed Smith Stadium: Bald eagles lose their perch in Sarasota | HeraldTribune.com

Was there any doubt in anyone's ind that the Eagles would end up losing?   While the HT tries to paint a picture of "family" and doing what's best.  All I see in my mind's eye is two pissed off eagles trying to protect their territory.

We like baseball

It's not about baseball.
It's about Accountability

We should be able to trust our government officials have the interest of the community at heart.
When lines are crossed to get a desired result should we as Americans turn a deaf ear?
When people stand up and say no more.  Not here.  Maybe politicians will respect thier positions as trusted servants a bit more.
